Northwoods is searching for a Site Reliability Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work very closely with our development team to design and deploy secure web solutions to our customers. This role will focus on designing, implementation, and configuration management of infrastructure and services that will host our web applications.
Desired Skills and Experience
Experience deploying and managing web and application servers, load-balancers, queues, and caches Experience with database technologies (PostgreSQL a plus, NoSQL document or graph oriented databases a big plus!) Experience with SSL installation and management Strong working knowledge of and experience troubleshooting and monitoring Windows and Linux operating systems Proficiency with utilities and tools to handle configuration management and automate operational functions (such as Puppet, Chef, etc.) and experience with cloud provider specific tooling (such as Cloudformation, ElasticBeanstalk) Experience with source control systems and driving infrastructure management via scriptable and repeatable (potentially automated) processes Experience building a monitoring or log analysis platform (such as ELK, Graylog, Graphite, etc) Scripting abilities (such as Shell, Python, Ruby, etc.) and experience using REST API’s A detail-oriented individual that also can keep the “bigger picture” of reliability and systems security in mind A desire to work with a continuous deployment pipeline A team-player who is motivated to mentor our teams on best practices for secure application deployment and operations Certifications with Amazon AWS (Solution Architect or SysOps Admin) or Microsoft Azure is a plus We are looking for someone with at least 2-5 years of operations engineering or web operations experience.
