Responsibilities * Work in engineering team to design, build, and maintain systems * Write scripts to monitor and automate processes * Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack * hardware, software, application and network * Take part in a 24x7 on-call rotation * Participate in code reviews for projects written in Scala built on open source libraries

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications * 2+ years industry experience as Software engineer * 3+ years of experience in Internet scale Unix environments * Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, web application security, and experience in multi-tier web application architectures * Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently * Track record of practical problem solving, excellent communication, and documentation skill * Ability to lead technical teams through designs and implementations across an organization * Hands-on experience in building event driven backend systems on JVM with Java or Scala * Practical knowledge of shell scripting and at least one scripting language (Python, Ruby, Perl) * Experience with existing open source projects such as Mesos, Hadoop, Scribe, Zookeeper, and containerization of existing applications. * B.S. in computer science or similar field
