Based in Dallas, Texas, you will provide engineering support for installation test, operation and maintenance of equipment in a Field assignment to include Wayside Automatic Train Control (ATC) and radio communication equipment. You will also provide estimates on engineering projects and technical expertise in support of other departments and personnel. In your role you will: * Support key areas of the Automatic Train Control (ATC) systems including Line Of Sight (LOS * radio communications), Central, Regional Automatic Train Operations/Protection (RATO/RATP), Train Registry System (TRS), Flexivision, CityFlo 650 Monitoring System (CFMS), and the Data Transmission System (DTS) by monitoring, reporting, and documenting performance levels; * Repair system issues as needed or required to maintain full system operation; * Perform/review risk assessments for tasks in areas of expertise; * Identify possible safety issues/violations and report them to HSE/Management promptly in compliance with company guidelines/protocols; * Consistently interface with all levels of the SDC in support of achieving and maintaining a World Class Safety Culture; * Prepare complex field change requirements; * Perform regular audits to the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program in areas of expertise to ensure PM work is completed per specifications and update PM specifications following established guidelines to ensure correct specifications are in place; * Perform regular audits to the Corrective Maintenance (CM) program in order to determine trends and increase reliability of systems in areas of expertise; * Develop and monitor fault tracking processes and trend analyses; * Develop alternate solutions to existing field engineering problems; * Prepare and evaluate options and make recommendations based on sound engineering principles and practical considerations; * Update/verify statuses on Temporary Change Authorizations (TCA’s), Field Requests (FR’s), Field Modification Instructions (FMI’s), and Engineering Change Notices (ECN’s) for key support areas; * Provide training as needed or required to site personnel and write and/or update documentation related to maintaining and troubleshooting systems within areas of expertise; * Perform additional duties as required or assigned. Qualifications As our ideal candidate: * You hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline; * You cumulate at least three (3) years of experience in a similar position and/or seven (7) years of related engineering experience (CityFlo 650 Automatic People Mover System, preferably); * You have experience in computer and radio systems; * You have a background in operation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of computer related systems; * You are proficient in the use of Site Informational Management Systems; * You possess knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and the use of internet applications; * You have extensive knowledge in computers, electronics, radios, and other components related to transit systems; * You have the ability to read and understand information presented in technical manuals, drawings and blueprints; * You are skilled in the diagnosis of electronic and mechanical failure identification; * Your teamwork and initiative skills are strong; * You possess problem solving techniques; * You are customer service oriented; * You are result driven; * Your English communication skills are excellent both written and spoken.
