The Reliability Test Engineer serves as the voice of the customer and is responsible for vehicle reliability testing to ensure that all potential customer issues are identified, reported and resolved prior to product launch. The selected candidate must work well independently and in team settings. They need to be self-directed, self-sufficient and assist others as required. He/she must possess the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where change is common.Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Perform over the road vehicle reliability testing- Responsibility for issue identification, collecting and analyzing all dataConduct hands-on vehicle evaluationsExcellent root cause analysis skillsUse vehicle diagnostic toolsReport and document vehicle issues and observationsSchedule all vehicle testing and inspectionsEnsure compliance with common business practicesParticipate in daily reliability issues meetingsParticipate in external and internal on-site eventsPresent identified vehicle issues to senior leadership, release engineers, managementStrong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment Basic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (other engineering degrees in combination with relevant experience may be considered)Minimum 5 years related experienceComputer literate with high level Excel skillsExcellent communication skillsCandidate must be high-energy, hands on individualPreferred Qualifications:Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or related discipline)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel macrosAutomotive industry experienceExperience using Automotive related diagnostic toolsExperience diagnosing automotive electrical systemsBroad knowledge of Automotive Systems and ComponentsPrevious warranty data analysis experienceShainin Technique and Green or Black Belt training along with demonstrated real world applications of the methods
