Job Title Building Engineer Job Description Summary This position is expected to support the Assistant and/or Chief Engineer in the forming and leading the team in day-to-day maintenance, repair, and efficient operation of all building systems and equipment. The engineer will be expected to coordinate, schedule and follow thru on completion of preventative maintenance items. In particular, the Engineer will be expected to perform routine maintenance and repairs of all HVAC, boiler, heating, refrigeration, water, fire and energy systems including cafeteria equipment to ensure the effective operation of the facility. Job Description Duties & Responsibilities * Manage site energy demand and spend in conjunction with Facility Operations and Environmental Teams. Responsible for the standards and metrics for facility reliability of energy programs. * Responsible for the system reliability, regulatory compliance, proactive maintenance optimization and efficient operation of waste water treatment, compressed air generator and distribution, building automation system operation and data utilization, electrical and gas utility infrastructure, steam generation and distribution, chilled water generation and distribution, cogeneration plant and solar energy operation. * Responsible for stationary equipment safety assessments, code compliance, training programs and mitigation plans for current facility operations. Ensure safety and environmental codes and local requirements are incorporated from design through completion of projects delivered. * Responsible for updating facility documentation, planning and implementation of maintenance with facility systems. * Responsible for annual cost projections, budgets, sourcing and analysis of energy contracts, demand management programs, and rebate programs. * Knowledge of fire system design and reliable operation. Oversees systems enhancements, related projects and operating procedures. Interfaces with local officials and agents. Requirements * Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in facilities engineering, maintenance, and capital project management. * Mechanical, electrical or facilities engineering or similar discipline. Degree or a facilities management certification a plus. Possess any permits or licenses required by or code. * Provide solutions for facility infrastructure, equipment and environmental control. * Experienced with commissioning and compliance requirements of facility systems. * Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with tenants, clients, project teams and vendors.
