The Zebra is seeking a Senior Engineer who can be very comfortable owning and scaling our infrastructure and tools for a dynamic and fast-paced team. You’ll be responsible for helping us enhance and scale our internal and external products across both desktop and mobile. What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with the development team to deploy new services and troubleshoot infrastructure and production issues
  • Maintain and scale The Zebra’s infrastructure, build, release and production systems.
  • Work closely with other engineers to improve release processes for stability, repeatability and security.
  • Work with the engineering team to maintain uptime and quickly diagnose and remedy production issues.
  • Lead and grow the other engineers through example and mentorship.
  • Keep the team informed on the impact of existing issues, new technology, and consult on best solutions
  • Continuously review and enhance processes for operating procedures
  • Be responsible for developing software tools to resolve problems quickly and efficiently
  • Respond to alerts and notifications while also planning and executing on longer term improvements

Requirements That Would Impress The Pants Off Us

  • 4+ years of professional SRE/DevOps experience
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • A Github profile or public code portfolio
  • Exceptional and demonstrable Linux/Unix and systems experience
  • Strong experience with AWS
  • Strong experience in designing, building and maintaining adequate production environments, provisioning and automation
  • Strong experience with widely accepted security best-practices and standards
  • Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
  • Strong experience with various monitoring tools and techniques
  • Mastery of the Linux/Unix command line, Bash and other server-management tools
  • A passion for problem solving with strong analytical capabilities
  • A desire to follow and advocate exceptional software engineering processes (including test-driven development)
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • A deep understanding of data structures, algorithms and framework internals
