Mechanical Reliability Engineer
MAINTENANCE RELIABILITY ENGINEER Job Title: Maintenance Reliability Engineer Reports To: Maintenance / Project Engineering Manager Department: Maintenance and Projects Direct Reports: Mechanical Integrity Inspector Responsible for the development and stewardship of plant reliability improvement and mechanical integrity programs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides technical leadership for both long and short-term reliability improvement activities.
- Manages the mechanical reliability program for the site.
- Ensures plant Mechanical Integrity procedures, programs and practices are in compliance with 29 CFR 1910.119(j)
- Works closely with other to determine and assess potential areas of reliability or equipment operating improvement, develop cost effective solutions and communicate proposals to upper management.
- Conducts and/or leads reliability assessments and equipment root cause failure analysis activities.
- Develops scope/proposals, cost estimates, project economics and schedules for projects relating to reliability improvement and mechanical integrity.
- Manages assigned project executions on budget, on schedule, and with technical accuracy.
- Serves as site administrator for the computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) & database.
- Ensures the plant adheres to best practice engineering and methods with respect to ASME, API, plant engineering standards and other codes that apply.
- Oversee and manages contractors and consultants on projects.

Participates as a team member for HAZOP’s, Management of Change and special projects. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering, preferably in a Chemical or Petrochemical Plant environment.
- Demonstrated expertise in mechanical integrity inspection methods, programs and program management
- Demonstrated expertise in preventative/predictive maintenance methods, programs and program management for both fixed and rotating equipment
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification is desirable

Strong working knowledge of the following technologies is desirable:
- RCFA and FMEA methods
- Preventative/predictive methods which includes vibration analysis, lube oil analysis, infra-red thermography, ultrasonic thickness testing
- API Codes 610, 653 and 510
