Summary This is an entry level engineering position intended to provide reliability engineering training before assuming a position at one of Ash Grove’s 8 cement manufacturing facilities. The Reliability Engineer development period will be approximately 2 years.  During the development period, the engineer will assist with providing oversight and guidance for the implementation of reliability initiatives in the context of the Maintenance Excellence Process (MEP).  They will develop a skill set to assess needs, perform gap analysis, prescribe support strategies, develop training & audit strategies, along with reliability solutions that yield enterprise wide best practices and add consistency to the MEP. Works under general supervision with specified policies, objectives and guidelines. Refers to supervisor for clarification or interpretation of policy. Exercises indirect supervision over Ash Grove personnel involved in the MEP process Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview and implementation of maintenance strategies and work processes to improve efficiency and equipment reliability

  • Reviews Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to measure and analyze plant reliability processes

  • Reviews and monitors the Bad Actor Reports and assists plants in implementing continuous improvement solutions

  • Reviews Failure Analysis reports and provides recommendations for continuous improvement solutions

  • Assists plants in conducting Failure Analysis on criticality “1” equipment as requested

  • Develops reliability, maintenance training programs and assists with plant-site training

  • Develops plant site auditing and assessments tools and conducts same

  • Provides support and oversight for condition monitoring, vibration analysis, on-line diagnostics and all additional PdM processes in use by the plants

  • Attends and contributes to periodic meetings, which include:

  • MEP steering committee, MEP task force, innovation committee, maintenance managers meetings

  • Represents Ash Grove at industry conferences and trade shows when appropriate

  • Utilizes Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to perform data analysis and provide recommendations to plant personnel to improve work management processes Assist the plants in conducting Maintenance Activities

  • Coordinates technical assistance with approved vendors for plants when required
  • Visits manufacturing facilities on a routine basis to maintain contact with MEP Teams Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Skills required include good organization, verbal and written communication, decision making and problem solving, Microsoft Office and Google product experience Education  B.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. Completion of Reliability Engineering related classes beneficial.  Experience  This is an entry level engineering position.
