Reliability Engineer
Develops and implements risk management strategies to include predictive and preventive maintenance systems. Establish systems to perform failure analysis, critical equipment lists, multi-year equipment replacement plans, etc. Analyzes engineering data and inspects repair sites to define priority of proposed maintenance repair projects.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies and programs.

Uses Reliability Principles and methodologies such as failure modes and effects analysis, root cause analysis, preventive and predictive maintenance, life cycle cost analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance, and Risk Based Inspection.
- Establish systems to perform failure analysis, critical equipment lists, multi-year equipment replacement plans, etc.
- Include predictive and preventive maintenance systems (vibration analysis, lubrication oil analysis, motor circuit evaluation, corrosion monitoring, thermography, equipment laser alignment, etc.)
- Responsible to develop and coordinate MI Programs.
- Analyzes engineering data and inspects repair site to define priority of proposed maintenance repair projects.
- Analyze equipment, piping, electrical, and instrument failures and provide solutions to eliminate or extend time between failures.
- Applies probability, statistical, modeling and prediction reliability tools appropriately
- Uses FMEA’s and risk analysis to develop a strategy to eliminate or minimize the impact of risk scenarios.
- Establish and enhance design standards that minimize life cycle costs and support high reliability.
- Understands unit operations, process equipment, and technology.
- High Level understanding of control systems capabilities infrastructure, trouble shooting, control loops and functionality.

Responsible for training programs for operations on reliability.
- Coach others (engineers, maintenance technicians, and operators) in the performance of Root Cause Analysis.
- Work closely with maintenance mechanics and operators to improve techniques that adversely affect equipment or product quality.
- Identify skill improvement opportunities and new tools/techniques to improve operating and maintenance results.
- Identify and implement improvements related to reliability.

Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities for equipment or product improvement.
- Write Charters/Proposals/Scopes for Improvements – Quantify Improvements and Costs
- Lead and Participates in LSS/Continuous Improvement projects where appropriate
- Leads small capital projects where appropriate

Provide on-going support to capital project engineers during the detailed design phase, equipment purchase, construction and start-up of capital projects related to reliability.
- Review engineering specifications and drawings; propose design modifications to improve reliability within cost and business requirements
- Lead or patriciate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR’s), and management of change (MOC’s)

Utilized outside engineering experts when appropriate.
- 5-8 years’ experience in a plant environment
- Knowledge in developing PM, execution, working with craftsmen
- Maintenance program and Asset knowledge, such as identifying areas to maximize results by utilizing data, pareto charting, etc.
- Ability to influence plant and operation staff, sponsor small plant projects, some small capital projects like 10k to 20k, etc.
- Good reliability experience
- Chemical Engineering degree preferred, will consider ME or EE candidates as well
- Must be degreed in engineering.
