Design for Reliability (DfR) is a major initiative to provide the INV teams with the ability to design products that meet market/customer reliability demands, improve TTM, improve design quality and improve protection against warranty related costs. The Design Centers, require training, coaching and mentoring as they develop and build DfR capability. Also Flex Manufacturing sites and Customers often need help with very difficult and challenging reliability related problems, where our team needs to lead and enable solutions. A highly experienced, senior reliability person is needed that can provide the leadership, mentoring and technical guidance needed. This person will have overall responsibility for reliability across all design group products. One important element is supporting customer questions and concerns, thus requiring exceptional knowledge and credibility in this field, along with strong leadership and communications skills.

Responsibilities Include

Using DfR methodologies, implement reliability strategies with all INV products to significantly improve product reliability at the design site and during manufacture. Overall responsibility for all reliability related activities at Design Centers, Manufacturing sites and as needed by our customers be seen as the champion and senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) on reliability

Basic Responsibilities

  • Capture reliability requirements, product usage conditions and customer requirements.
  • Ensure FEA, Thermal testing, De-rating are completed by the design teams.
  • Working with the Component Reliability Engineer and members of the design team, conduct BoM screens for all new product designs
  • Lead the DFMEA sessions with the design team
  • Capture all reliability risks, quantify these risks and generate a risk mitigation plan
  • Generate a “roadmap” for all reliability related testing including test parameters and test conditions. Review, assess and interpret all test data.
  • Coordinate and participate in Failure Analysis activities
  • Define parameters and test requirements for ORT at the manufacturing sites and be the SME who interprets ORT data.
  • Monitor all field return data and coordinate any corrective actions. Job Category Design & Technology
