Are you an experienced Systems Development Engineer who likes to solve complex technical problems? Are you passionate about cutting edge technology and willing to lead scaling efforts for large-scale systems? Are you experienced in building scalable systems to solve challenging business problem? Amazon Restaurants is looking for an exceptional, motivated Systems Development Engineer to join our fast paced technology team and help us scale our systems and services. You will play a critical role in the future of Amazon Restaurants & Tickets and be at the center of Amazon’s innovation by exploring, defining, building and improving its systems and services.

You will be able to explore and expand your creative side by proposing, driving and implementing technical solutions for automation, efficiency and scaling. You will be working with other Systems Development as well as Software Development engineers to invent, design, and build systems that are stable and performant. You will be identifying patterns that affect the performance, reliability and availability of our products and services to drive automation solutions and be able to truly innovate. · B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field · 7+ years overall systems development and automation experience · In-depth working knowledge of the UNIX/Linux based operating systems · Proficiency with one or more scripting languages · Proficiency with one or more high level languages (e.g. Java/Python/Ruby) · Working knowledge of networking fundamentals · Working knowledge of Java based technologies · Understanding of XML/JSON, web services, workflow modeling, web application development, and industry-standard commerce systems · Experience with Performance/Capacity Management of large distributed systems is a plus · Ability and drive to take ownership and lead process improvement as well as technical projects across teams · Ability to work independently and drive large scale technical projects as well as operational enhancements

· Experience with security engineering · Proven ability to improve operations management systems and processes to keep pace with rapid growth · Experience with external monitoring and site reliability engineering
