Instrument Reliability Engineer
Job Duties
This position is responsible for improving productivity through establishing reliable and accurate instrumentation throughout the Lake Charles plant. Job duties include:
- Track instrument reliability (KPI’s) for bad actors in the plant and recommend solutions to drive improved performance.
- Improve Burner Management System reliability throughout the site.
- Drive proactive approach for maintaining accurate and reliable instrumentation.
- Investigate and establish best practices for reliable and accurate instrumentation for each Lake Charles process.
- Research and trial new technologies as opportunities are presented.
- Establish a critical instrumentation list and create routine preventive maintenance / calibration durations for each item on the list.
- Based on critical instrumentation list, establish a program to ensure timely accessibility of spare instrumentation and parts.
- Serve as project manager for instrumentation project needs throughout the plant.
- Review major purchases and capital projects to optimize life cycle costs.

Identify opportunities for standardization of instrumentation parts.
- Proactive problem solving approach focused on action and long term improvements.
- Extensive knowledge of industry best practices with instrumentation.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation design and troubleshooting.
- Burner Management System troubleshooting experience preferred.
- Good communication skills and ability to work with others.
- Strong computer skills.
