GENERAL ENGINEERING FUNCTION

  • Provide Project Management support and guidance for engineering within the assigned region.
  • Act as Project Manager or Provide Leadership for large projects across the Americas region (Typically > $10MM).

  • Support Global CAPEX Governance Program and Project Investment Plan with training to site resources.

  • Ensure project controls are effectively implemented for capital projects within the region.
  • Understand global engineering standards and best practices to guide engineers and external resources.
  • Work with functional leaders to ensure safety, process safety, quality, food safety are designed into projects.
  • Understand the JMH Risk-Based Management philosophy.  Use the philosophy to develop projects  across the region.
  • Act as regional SME in a stage-gate approach for projects that ensures: strategic fit, competitive advantage, market/customer alignment, technical feasibility, risk identification, legal/regulatory compliance, definition of critical success factors, and project implementation planning.
  • Scout new technology in the field of manufacturing processes, utilities, and process control in connection with the Directors of Operations, PEMs, plant teams, and PPRD.
  • Contribute to productivity planning and continuous improvement by applying new technologies.
  • Provide expertise in the area of project management, engineering, and risk mitigation.
  • Oversee development of major contracts for equipment and services to ensure proper specifications and scope, favorable terms and conditions, and serve as liaison with procurement and legal.
  • Assist Platform Engineering Manager as required in executing projects and activities necessary to reduce PSM risks across the region.   Positions Requirements:    BS Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical • 7+ years of relevant and progressive experience in capital projects• Project Management• Process Safety Management background a plus• Experience with various Process Unit Operations • Manufacturing Knowledge: Operations, Quality(GMP & Food Safety), EH&S, and Reliability• Financial background in Operations, specifically CAPEX • Strong background in construction management
