Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate microservices infrastructure on Amazon Web Services, including existing production systems and new customer deployments
  • Build and support the tools and services that help you work more efficiently, with fewer interruptions, while setting the foundation for future platform growth: continuous delivery, configuration management, high frequency metrics collection and monitoring
  • Collaborate as a system/network/operations specialist in an agile development culture with multidisciplinary teams (developers, architects, operations, QA)
  • ​Use your expert skills to identify and relieve production performance bottlenecks

Experience & Qualifications

  • Broad knowledge of systems that power highly available web and mobile applications
  • Deep domain expertise in two or more areas: site reliability engineering, cloud security, real-time data/messaging platforms, linux systems administration, networking, storage
  • Strong communication skills, ownership acumen. Must be able to deconstruct complex problems and projects into execution detail
  • Strong grasp of security practices: L2-L7 frame/packet/session inspection, firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, audit controls, GNU/linux tuning/hardening
  • Strong with one or more languages (Go, Python, Perl, Groovy, Ruby, Bash, etc) and version control systems (git, svn, etc)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience designing and building highly available and/or e-commerce web services on public IaaS platforms (AWS, GCE, etc)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with infrastructure automation, configuration management (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc), or container orchestration
