The FCA Quality Organization is currently seeking a Reliability Test Engineer professional to join our Quality team at the Roush test facility in Auburn Hills, MI. The Reliability Test Engineer serves as the voice of the customer and is responsible for vehicle reliability testing to ensure that all potential customer issues are identified, reported and resolved prior to product launch. The selected candidate must work well independently and in team settings. They need to be self-directed, self-sufficient and assist others as required. He/she must possess the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where change is common.
Specific Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Perform over the road vehicle reliability testing- Responsibility for issue identification, collecting and analyzing all data
- Conduct hands-on vehicle evaluations
- Excellent root cause analysis skills
- Use vehicle diagnostic tools
- Report and document vehicle issues and observations
- Schedule all vehicle testing and inspections
- Ensure compliance with common business practices
- Participate in daily reliability issues meetings
- Participate in external and internal on-site events
- Present identified vehicle issues to senior leadership, release engineers, management
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (other engineering degrees in combination with relevant experience may be considered)
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Computer literate with high level Excel skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Candidate must be high-energy, hands on individual
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering (or related discipline)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel macros
- Automotive industry experience
- Experience using Automotive related diagnostic tools
- Experience diagnosing automotive electrical systems
- Broad knowledge of Automotive Systems and Components
- Previous warranty data analysis experience
- Shainin Technique and Green or Black Belt training along with demonstrated real world applications of the methods Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA), the seventh-largest automaker in the world, designs, engineers, manufactures and sells passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, components and production systems worldwide.
