Maintenance Engineer
The Dow Chemical Company has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer for the Ringwood, IL site. Ringwood is the largest site in the Chicago Hub and represents the bulk of the Adhesives & Functional Materials business assets in North America.
The primary role of the Maintenance Engineer is to increase the mechanical reliability of equipment in the assigned production units. This is done by providing maintenance engineering support in close coordination with production personnel and the site maintenance group.
Must be able to facilitate development of facility & equipment maintenance strategies, provide hands-on coaching for materials/equipment selection and repairs, and support the Reliability Engineer on equipment reliability problems. Must be able to facilitate root cause investigations and develop and implement effective solutions from the investigation in order to achieve long term reliability.
Must be an effective communicator of solutions developed to solve reliability issues and be able to leverage these solutions to other plants within the site and business (at other Dow locations). Must be able to apply reliability principles to solve problems and provide adequate documentation of solutions developed.
Key Responsibilities
- Focus on long term reliability issues
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and coaching for mechanical issues, design, and selection
- Support GMISS implementation
- Serve as a key resource for materials selection
- Facilitate and implements root cause analysis
- Identify gaps between facility strategy, reliability model, and plant performance
- Follow Root Cause Analysis process to address reliability opportunities
- Document facility opportunities and establishes value case with cost data
- Develop and implements operating discipline to maximize equipment reliability
- Develop preventative maintenance plans Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree or higher in an engineering related discipline Required Qualifications:

A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process. Preferred Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering degree
- 2 or more years maintenance, reliability and/or production experience
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing facility
- Experience in reliability modeling, budgeting for expenditures, Six Sigma methodology, and leading projects to successful conclusions
- Experience leading root cause investigations
