TrueCar is seeking to add a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to our technology team. This role is a client facing, hands on engineering position, delivering guidance and advice to the client organization regarding application integration, DevOps, RDBMS and NoSQL, networking, virtualization, storage and security.

  • Work alongside internal teams to create and deliver technical strategy 
  • Design and implement solutions for key pieces of infrastructure for deployment, monitoring, alerting, data storage, and security
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies based on feature requirements, cost effectiveness, and reliability
  • Continually improve the state of our shared infrastructure
  • Revisit existing applications and infrastructure with a fresh perspective to suggest improvements and optimizations
  • Build working relationships at all levels across the organization to ensure Cloud adoption
  • Contribute to best practice with written documentation and stand ups, both internally and with the client

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience of DevOps approach
  • automation is key: Ansible, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet 
  • Scripting with Python, Ruby, Bash 
  • RDBMS and NoSQL such as DynamoDB 
  • Linux OS and Package management
  • Clear commitment to Cloud
  • track record with AWS preferred, but OpenStack, Google and Azure also of interest
  • Excellent communication skills, written and spoken
  • Evidence of self-learning and a commitment to personal development is essential

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, or equivalent experience NICE TO HAVE:

  • Elastic/ELK stack
  • 2+ years of experience as a software developer with an MVC web framework such as Rails or Django
  • AWS Certification preferred but not essential: SysOps and/or Solutions Architect ideal
  • Experience with one or more of Amazon RDS, Elastic MapReduce (EMR), DynamoDB, Redshift
  • Experience with one or more of Salt, Chef, or Puppet
  • Experience with Docker tooling and ecosystem
