As a Site Reliability Engineer, you are a hybrid software/systems DevOps engineer who ensures that Seagate’s Cloud Services run smoothly and has capacity for future growth. You will embed with the various Developer teams to ensure that as the system scales and new features are delivered, reliability is not compromised. Responsibilities:

• Own and scale Seagate’s suite of Cloud products.

• Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our backend systems.

• Create scalable alerting and auto remediation systems.

• You will share an on-call rotation backed by all our engineering teams.

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and monitoring of our systems to ensure adequate SLA and capacity requirement.

Qualifications

  • BS (5-8yrs exp), MS (3-5rs exp) in Computer Science / Engineering or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of Unix/Linux system and network administration, Ubuntu preferred.
  • Configuration and maintenance of Amazon Web Service infrastructure such as EC2, Elasticache, IAM, Redshift, Route53, S3 and VPC.
  • Strong understanding of Unix and TCP/IP fundamentals.
  • Object-oriented programming experience, for example in Python, Scala, Java, Perl or C++ .
  • Ability to rapidly learn new software, frameworks, open source tools and development languages.
  • Organized, focused on resolving and delivering, good communicator in and across teams.

Desirable: * General understanding of NoSQL Database fundamentals, especially Cassandra administration is a plus. * Experience with performance, scalability, and reliability issues of 24x7 commercial services. * Strong troubleshooting skills. * Experience with Configuration Management systems such as Ansible, Puppet and Chef .
