Mechanical Engineer
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following)
Design and detail new products and make improvements to existing products utilizing 2D/3D design software.
Evaluate products, parts or processes for reliability and cost efficiency.
Ensure form/fit/function of all mechanical and electrical assemblies released for production.
Communication with electrical/controls engineers to develop controls plan.
Ability to conceptualize ideas and design from blank page without supervision.
Additional Responsibilities
Follow safe work procedures and practices to promote an injury- and incident-free workplace.
Work Environment
Perform other duties and assignments as required.
Most work is performed in the employer’s workplace. Occasional travel will be necessary to conduct customer site visits to verify design constraints as well as tradeshow and seminar visits.
Occasional use of basic hand tools for design modifications and part fitment adjustments.
Esssential Competencies
Proficiency using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Design Software.
Proficiency using EPDM Part Management Software .
Proficiency using Fishbowl Inventory Management Software .
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Organizational Skills.
Effective communication skills.
Qualifications Desired
B.S. Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience/understanding of robotic systems and automated processes would be a plus.
