Lead Performance Engineer
Description: Salesforce is seeking a talented Performance Engineer who can evaluate the performance of enterprise applications running on cutting edge cloud computing platforms. Our Performance Engineers discover ways to squeeze every ounce of performance from mobile, social, and enterprise cloud applications. Use and develop your skill in tuning, optimizing, and enhance application performance by improving cashing, querying, multi-threading, multi-tenancy, distributed computing, and shared resource utilization. Continually find better ways in generating complex load simulations, and analyzing applications down to the code level for bottlenecks. Work with world class Developers to create the most innovative products in the industry. You will help deliver critical features and ensure our cloud services remain blazingly fast and bulletproof for our customers worldwide. Responsibilities:
- Be the performance expert on key projects to evaluate and improve the performance
- Lead cross-functional and cross-organizational initiatives to improve product performance
- Drive department wide product creation improvements in response time, capacity, scalability, reliability, resource utilization and data integrity
- Architect overarching solutions for all performance engineering to follow
- Conduct technical presentations to educate teams on how to improve performance

- 9+ years experience in Performance Engineering
- 9+ years experience with web front-end and back-end performance tuning
- 9+ years experience in performance tuning enterprise cloud applications
- 9+ years experience in performance tuning JVMs, databases, and SQL
- 9+ years experience in web technologies (HTTP, TSL, CSS, Web Services, etc)
- 9+ years experience with load generation tools (e.g. LoadRunner, JMeter, Grinder)
- 6+ years experience in performance testing mobile applications
- 6+ years of programming experience in Java, C++, C#
- 6+ years experience with script languages JavaScript, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell
- 6+ years experience with data mining tools (Splunk, Sumologic, Loggly)

Bachelor’s Degree in any software or hardware engineering discipline Desired Skills:
- Application servers (e.g. Resin, Weblogic, WebSphere, JBoss)
- J2EE Technologies (e.g. JSP, Servlets, EJB, Web Services, SOA)
- Java Debugging / Monitoring Software (e.g. JProbe, Dynatrace, Introscope)
- Oracle SQL / PL SQL query plan analysis/tuning, contention/locking analysis and tuning
- Oracle clustering technologies (e.g. RAC, Grid, OPS)
- Network packet sniffers (e.g. TcpDump, Network Monitor, WinDump)
