The ITE Storage Engineer is primarily responsible for providing consultation and expert technicaladvice on IT infrastructure planning, and engineering for assigned systems.This individual also translates business requirements and functionalspecifications into technical requirements that support integrated andsustainable designs for complex or high impact infrastructure systems. The ITE Storage Engineer is responsible forserving as a technical expert for project teams throughout the implementationand maintenance of assigned enterprise infrastructure systems and for mentoringand advising others in all system development life-cycle phases. The ITE Storage Engineer III must be proficient acrossmultiple solution areas and provide storage and backup services excellence toour Lowes business partners. The candidate should possess and be able todemonstrate 5-6 years of best practice storage/backup solutions design andengineering with the ability to translate business requirements into state ofthe art solutions that meet or exceed expectations. The candidate will engagewith the customer, accurately gather/analyze requirements, competently designand implement best of breed solutions in a timely manner. The candidate will demonstrate technology mastery andownership ensuring reliability, availability, serviceability, scalability andhigh performing solutions in the Lowe’s enterprise storage/backup environment.This position will report to the IT Infrastructure Engineering Manager ofStorage and will work closely with the IT Operations and ITE server platformteams to engineer solutions that meet/exceed the business requirements for allstorage, DR, and backup projects. The candidate must be able to work autonomously and within ahigh performance team possessing the ability to implement large scale, multi TBSAN and NAS solutions from end-to-end, inclusive of DR and backup/recovery.Candidate must recommend, test and implement innovative technology resulting inresource efficiency and a lower TCO. Candidate will be responsible forproviding after hours support as part of team rotation. Candidate will beresponsible to enhance and document engineering processes and supportprocedures for Operations. Qualifications: Required Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or relatedfield and 8+ years of experience in an IT support environment with technicalexperience in distributed technologies and systems development. Additionalequivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. • 2+ years of infrastructure engineering experience workingacross multiple domains, platforms, or specialty areas • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role with orwithout direct reports • 6+ years of experience in storage engineering and/or databackup engineering, including experience with data replication. • 4+ years of gathering and translating business requirements into technicalspecifications. • Five (5) or more years of experience supporting andenterprise AIX and Windows storage environment (Linux/Sun are a plus). • 5+ years of experience with EMC ISILON(NAS) storage arrays. • 5+ years of experience with EMC VNX (SAN/NAS) • 5+ years of experience with EMC Celerra NAS arrays. • 5+ years of experience with EMC CLARiiON storage arrays. • 5+ years of experience with Brocade SAN directors and routers. • 5+ years of experience with mapping, zoning and masking storage to initiators. • 4+ years of experience on EMC VMAX with FAST and Thin Provisioning. • 5+ years of experience with NetApp / IBM N-Series(N3000/6000 lines) storage arrays. • 4+ years of experience with EMC Data Domain and Isilon Backup target arrays. • 5+ years storage management software experience shouldinclude ALL of the following: Experienceinstalling, configuring, and managing TimeFinder, SRDF/A, MirrorView,RecoverPoint, Snapview, Unisphere Manager, SnapRestore, SnapMirror, FlexClone,Replication Manager, and Insight IQ. • 5 years of experience with multiple storage protocols (FC, FCIP, CIFS & NFS). • 5 years of experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Emulex andQLogic HBA’s using multipath IO software. • AIX, Windows, Linux platform admin experience. EVMAX, DMX,SRDF. Nseries, SnapMirror, SnapRestore. RecoverPoint, Avamar, ReplicationManager, Open Replicator, CLARiiON (in an enterprise VMware environment),Snapview, and Unisphere Manager experience is preferred. •Experience in configuring and/or managing LAN &fiber-based tape backup environments including CommVault on a VTL tospecifically include Data Domain (DD-880/890 and Isilon). Preferred Qualifications: • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field • 3+ years of experience working with UNIX systemsadministration. • 3+ years of experience working with Windows systemsadministration • 3+ years of experience configuring enterprise classstorage area network (SAN) switches • 3+ years of experience configuring enterprise classnetwork attached storage (NAS) solutions. • Brocade certification • EMC certification • 3+ years of experience leading technical or project teamswith or without direct reports • 2+ years of work experience in an IT role requiringinteraction with senior leadership • 4+ years of experience working in a large matrixedorganization • 4+ years of experience working with third party IT vendorsand/or systems solution providers • 4+ years of IT experience in the retail industry • 4+ years of experience writing technical documentation inan infrastructure development environment Lowe’s Companies, Inc.
