Instrument/ Electrical Reliability Engineer - AWDE
Excellent location in a north Houston suburb petrochemical facility for the established Instrument & Electrical Reliability Engineer.
In the position you will be involved in the following areas:*
Provide I & E expertise for the plant site.*
Collaborate with operations personnel and I & E technicians in diagnosing I & E problems and issues; develop alternatives, propose and implement solutions for long-term reliability by conducting root cause failure analysis and implementing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.*
Serve as the owner of the plant site electrical infrastructure.*
Serve as the owner and administrator of Safety Instrument System (SIS) program.*
Serve as the owner and facilitator of instrumentation and electrical equipment selection and installation process.*
Seek compliance with all environmental, safety, and health requirements, and promote a safe working environment.*
Evaluate and select suppliers for specific instrumentation applications. Additional responsibilities include:*
Participate in and complete company-required training programs.*
Participate in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.*
Participate and/or lead Safety Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).*
Monitor key performance indicators, and support and implement continuous improvements to the maintenance work process.*
Administer various elements of the maintenance program, including DCS and PLC, device inspections and calibrations, spare parts availability, and similar activities.*
Provide input to preparing the maintenance budget, and controls spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.*
Interface effectively with Operators, Mechanics, Vendors, Contractors, Management and other groups to meet business objectives; foster cooperation and collaboration among individuals in a work group; help teams resolve conflicts constructively.*
Ensure proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings.*
Maintain current requirements as to equipment/materials specifications and vendor preferences. To be considered you need:*
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university with 5+ years experience.*
Knowledge of field instrumentation and controls including sensors, transmitters, final elements, process control systems, communication protocols, and wiring methods preferred.*
Experience with PLC and DCS systems preferred.*
Experience with design and installation of analyzers and their sample systems is desired. Must have the legal right to work indefinitely in the United States, or Canadian or Mexican citizenship.
