At Live Nation Entertainment, our people embrace these qualities, so if this sounds like you then please read on!    The Role: As a Ticketmaster Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you’ll be part of the team responsible for ensuring that all Ticketmaster web sites are available, reliable, and fast, at all times.  Through small teams based in Australia, Copenhagen, London, Canada and the United Stages, the SRE team provides 24/7 oversight and support of the infrastructure and services that power Ticketmaster.  A member of the SRE team must be able to work independently and multi-task among several concurrent problems, perform triage and prioritization as necessary through the exercise of discretion and independent judgment including marshaling the appropriate and necessary internal resources during high-pressure situations. This person is a self-starter with a strong sense of responsibility and problem ownership who can commit to driving issues to completion; someone who can adapt quickly, and is capable of compiling together working solutions across a broad technology stack and working with engineering teams on long-term fixes.   Responsibilities:  

  • Provision and maintain Linux servers in production.
  • Strategize with fellow SREs and other engineering teams on complex problems, and make decisions and recommendations about systems and application improvements after analyzing possible courses of conduct.
  • Design and improve automation and tools for systems management, monitoring, and build tools to help service owners and fellow SREs maintain the site and core services.
  • Perform architectural design and capacity planning.
  • Independently learn new technologies and master the Ticketmaster infrastructure so that you can provide ‘full stack’ diagnostics, when necessary, to help determine the root cause of internal problems.
  • Attend daily stand-ups and architecture planning sessions with development teams.
  • Accurate information transfer and positive engagement with other teams is a vital SRE responsibility.
  • Perform periodic on-call duty as part of a global team maintaining the availability and performance of the Ticketmaster’s site and APIs used by third-party services, as well as the various internal services and systems on which these core interfaces depend.
  • Perform software installations and documentation.
