Maintenance Reliability Engineer
We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Reliability Engineer at our University Park plant in Illinois. The University Park facility began in 1990 as a specialty surfactants company. This site produces amphoterics, preservatives, performance concentrates/blends, glycol esters, amides/amidoamines/oxides, quatinary amines, and sulfosuccinates for the Solvay Novecare global business unit.
- The reliability engineer leads the effort to continually increase the reliability of process and utility equipment. His/her efforts always include the highest standards with regard to Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) practices along with cost effective programs and solutions.
- This position is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the preventive/predictive (PM/PdM) program to encompass such things as reliability, mechanical integrity (MI), ISO, documentation control and cost efficiency.
- The reliability engineer is also the technical resource for equipment issues and develops the plant standards for the equipment itself, components, spare parts and installation.
- He/she will develop, monitor, analyze and improve reliability Key Process Indicators (KPI), will lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) efforts, will champion the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) effort and will fully support plant wide Manufacturing Excellence (ME) efforts. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, maintain and coordinate the administration of a world class PM/PdM maintenance program for the plant including inspection procedures, frequencies, employee training, quality assurance, deficiency mitigation, auditing, and records management, to encompass corporate and legal requirements such as MI and ISO 9002/2000 certification.
- Use predictive technologies combined with historical information to identify dominant deterioration and failure modes, causes/effects of deterioration, and corrective actions required (failure analysis and mitigation)
- Monitor the work order system to identify opportunities for improvement by eliminating repeat failures.
- Develop engineering solutions to maintenance problems, including ways of reducing or eliminating the need for maintenance through equipment replacement or improvement of work practices.
- Work with the production and technical departments to develop a critical equipment list, spare parts inventory and reliability strategies for the critical equipment.

Failure analysis and corrective action support for the maintenance technicians Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCES: Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred. A Degree in Mechanical Technology or Manufacturing Technology with commensurate experience is optional. Experience:
- Requires working knowledge of manufacturing practices, continuous improvement, process optimization, and efficiency measurement.
- 3+ years experience in an industrial, production environment with 3+ years in maintenance or reliability.
- Knowledge of plant reliability practices, preventive/predictive maintenance practices, mechanical integrity/maintenance management, failure analysis, continuous improvement, and efficiency measurement.
- Proficient in SAP/MM modules or other Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification a plus. #CB
