E/l/A Reliability Superintendent

The position provides Electrical/Instrumentation/Automation (E/I/A) technical expertise and leadership to implement asset reliability improvements across Phosphate business unit. The person in this position will: (1) Lead a team with representatives from all sites working to implement Mosaic’s Reliability Process, developing and deploying E/I/A asset strategies. (2) Lead E/I/A RE problem solving activities by providing mentoring in RCA process and corrective action activities. Ensure sharing of significant RCA’s takes place across the BU. (3) Collaborate with peer Reliability and Maintenance Superintendents to ensure consistent application of the reliability process across the business unit. (4) Provide E/I/A expertise and facilitate calibration of support 5 year capital plan asset assessments. (5) Train, mentor and coach personnel across the entire organization on reliability concepts
What will you do?
- Lead E/I/A reliability team in deploying Mosaic’s Reliability Process, monitor execution of asset strategies, and continuously improve the process. Also work to establish reliability standards, collaborate over common equipment issues, sustain progress and deliver results. The role will require the use of influential leadership to create team member buy-in for reliability improvement initiative and ensure culture change to sustain progress.
- Collaborate with other Reliability & Maintenance Superintendents to develop reliability improvement strategies, ensure consistency between reliability improvement teams, share best practices and experiences. Identify issues and provide solutions in implementation of reliability improvement process across BU.
- Mentor site E/I/A RE’s in problem solving methods. Guide efforts to mine data, identify reliability improvement opportunities and develop corrective actions focused on delivering OEE improvement and cost reduction. Teach Root Cause Analysis processes to review significant failures, identify corrective action to prevent re-occurrence and refine asset strategy to sustain improvement. Facilitate the sharing of significant RCA’s across the BU to avoid similar failures at other sites.
- Collaborate with site RE’s to calibrate prioritized asset assessments that support 5 year capital financial planning
- Provide formal and informal training to the organization on reliability concepts and skills. Develop and present formal training materials. Provide informal coaching and counseling throughout the organization on an ongoing basis. Serve as a mentor for the Reliability and Maintenance Engineering talent.
- Seize opportunity to build environmental, health and safety improvements into equipment asset strategies. Be a role model to others in exceeding expectations of EHS policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
What do you need for this role?
- Bachelor’s Degree required, major in Engineering or Engineering Technology preferred. Electrical preferred, other engineering disciplines considered with significant E/I/A reliability experience.
- 10+ years’ experience in high voltage power distribution systems required with advanced instrumentation and process automation knowledge.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience preferred.
- Chemical processing and mining experience preferred.
- Knowledge of PLC and DCS systems preferred.
- Preferred certifications: CMRP (SMRP certified maintenance reliability professional), CRE (ASQ certified reliability engineer), CRL (AMP certified reliability leader), CSSBB (ASQ certified six sigma black belt)
- Maximo, Minitab, OSI, and PI experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of reliability and maintenance processes required.
- Experience leading teams and facilitating group discussions.
- Strong computer skills required to create, edit and manage data/information using Microsoft Office products, CMMS and other specialized software.
- Facilitation experience with RCM, FMEA and RCA. Development experience with PM procedures.
- Strong knowledge of Predictive Technologies (vibration, IR, UE, MCA, Oil Analysis)
