Sr. Systems and Operations Engineer YuMe is looking for a Senior Systems & Operations Engineer. This senior candidate must be a self-starter, who works well with others and be able to adapt to changes quickly in a goal oriented startup environment. The right professional must have hands on experience and a good track record of managing, trouble shooting and maintaining secure content delivery networks, enterprise systems and large networking environments. Hands on experience in the internals & configuration of JVMs, Apache & Tomcat is mandatory. This candidate will participate in defining and scoping our deployment topology and work with datacenters to deploy our service.  Responsibilities: 

  • Configure & fine-tune JVMs, Apache, Tomcat environments
  • Configure servers, Virtual machines & Operating systems.
  •  Monitor site stability and performance
  • 24x7 on-call support of the Datacenter Infrastructure
  • Prioritize tasks and work independently yet interact well within a project-oriented team environment
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes
  • Documentation of current and future configuration processes and policies

  • Troubleshoot problems with hardware, software, network, and security administration  Desired Skills & Experience 

  • BS degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of industry experience working in a high volume, large scale data networks.
  • Strong hands-on experience in application administration and application deployment with Apache, Tomcat & MySQL is mandatory.
  • Must have a successful track record of deploying systems and application in high availability/high volume environments (min 10+ Nodes)
  • Knowledge of reliability and security requirements is essential.
  • Prior experience interfacing with and/or working in datacenters is a must.
  • Hands-on experience provisioning Linux servers for server side deployment.
  • Hands on experience in backup and restore tools are a must.
  • Release Engineering – Ant build and continues build and deployment
  • Advanced skill levels with Unix shell scripting and other scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python) required
  • Knowledge of Windows media, Quicktime and Flash is a big plus.
  • Hands-on experience in integration with monitoring tools (Nagios) is plus.
