eHarmony is looking for a strong Engineer with a passion for Site reliability and Cloud based systems to come join the Elevated Careers team. In this position you will be building, maintaining and scaling Elevated Careers through a combination of Engineering and DevOps skills.   You will be responsible for:  

  • Driving performance and reliability from highly trafficked web applications deployed in the public cloud.
  • Work on deployment automation for Integrated cloud based software systems
  • Respond to and resolve emergent service problems; write software and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
  • Work closely with Development teams to identify and resolve scalability challenges
  • Creating and maintaining system and application performance monitoring systems and dashboards
  • Work with Continuous Integration environments

  • Exploring and rapid adaption of new technologies in the cloud and virtualization space   Qualifications:  

  • BS /MS in Computer science or related technical field.
  • 2 years relevant work experience or background in DevOps/Unix system administration space during the curriculum
  • Solid development skills in Java, Ruby, Python, shell scripting.
  • Well versed in internet architectures, including web, application, and database components
  • General networking skills including understanding of firewalls, NAT and packet filtering
  • Experience with any of the public cloud systems such as AWS, Google Compute Engine, Rackspace, Azure.
  • Ability to handle periodic on-call duty as well as out-of-band requests.
  • Past experience at startups is a plus.
