The Presence and Commerce Operations Team is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join their team. The focus of this team is supporting multiple development groups and their applications as well as designing, improving and building out new infrastructure for new and upcoming products. Requirements:

  • Skilled with Bash and at least one other scripting language (Python, Ruby, etc ).
  • Experience troubleshooting production issues in a wide-scale server environment .
  • Deep understanding of how TCP/IP and the Network stack functions .
  • You love automating manual processes .
  • Possess documentation ethic. ( ie . Code comments, process methodologies, etc.)
  • Experienced in Nix (Cent/RHEL) systems, as well as Win systems.
  • Experience with NAS and other remote storage solutions .
  • Knowledgeable with MySQL query syntax and basic MySQL configuration knowledge .

  • Experience with virtualization technology . ( Docker , VMWare, OpenStack etc.) Responsibilities:

  • Conduct performance analysis and monitoring of multiple products/platforms .
  • Identify, plan and implement solutions that continually improves performance.
  • Automation development for infrastructure efficiencies across multiple products/platforms .
  • Automation towards un-attended fix actions .
  • Capacity management for multiple products/platforms .
  • Code contributions in languages such as Python, C/C++, Bash, Powershell , and Ruby .
  • Performance tuning for Apache web server, tcp / ip & network stack, s y stem/kernel level tuning, NFS .
  • Alert response for performance and capacity related thresholds .

  • On-call rotations and Incident call handling . Bonus:

  • Experience working in an agile environment .
  • 3+ years working in a large scale ( Web Service ) environment .
  • Clear understanding of what ‘High Availability’ means to you .
  • Experience working with configuration management, SCCM, Puppet, Chef, etc.
  • Experience working with container systems ( Docker /Kubernetes) .
