About The Role

Oracle Storage Cloud Site Reliability Engineers utilize their software engineering skills to scale and operate cloud serving Networks and Systems. Your team will own the system availability program and work to maximize whole system performance. Youll address the challenges of agile development, testing, and production operations by building innovative solutions. The successful candidate will possess a passion for new technology and display a deep understanding of best practices. To utilize your organizational scope youll need excellent communication skills. Youll also participate in a 24x7 call rotation for escalations.

We Are Seeking Seasoned Site Reliability Engineers With

Expertise in Python, Go, Ruby, or Perl Deep knowledge of the IP Stack Deep Knowledge of Load Balancing and Network performance tuning Knowledge of Linux performance tuning and security Knowledge of Software Engineering best practices Knowledge of Internet Transit/Routing Experience with agile iterative development Experience with of System Security testing tools like Nessus/Core/Nmap Experience with Virtualization and Containers like Docker, Vagrant, VirtualBox and Xen

Additional Skills Sought

Knowledge of cloud compute technologies including object storage like Ceph, OpenStack Swift or other storage technologies Knowledge of Secure coding and Software Security best practices Strong Bias for Automation with systems like Ansible/Chef/Puppet Experience with Monitoring, Logging and Analysis with technology like ElasticSearch and Graphite Infrastructure as code Experience with high rate messaging systems

Qualifications

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
