DESCRIPTION:

CBS Local Digital Media Group is seeking a Software Engineer with a focus on Site Reliability to design, code, and operate tools and systems to reduce amount of time and effort necessary for engineers to scale the #1 Local Media destination. This is an opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment inside a media giant!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage availability, scalability, and performance of CBS Local, CBS Radio, CBS TVS, and Eventful platforms and applications
  • Work closely with a diverse engineering team to advocate sensible and scalable systems design to make new features fast and stable
  • Create and own tools that will benefit the CBS Local engineering and product teams
  • Design and operate our automation systems including builds, configuration, and deployments across Linux ,Windows, and mobile stacks
  • Participate in on call support of our private and public cloud-based environments, APIs, and web applications

  • Share knowledge through documentation and team lunch & learnsQUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years previous experience in an SRE, Systems Admin, or Programmer role
  • Knowledge of a scripting programming language (e.g., Python, PHP, Perl, Ruby) required
  • Expertise in continuous integration systems (Jenkins preferred)
  • Expertise in change management systems (Ansible or Puppet preferred)
  • Expertise in problem solving and troubleshooting large-scale complex systems
  • Experience with monitoring tools
  • Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL datastores
