This position is responsible for guiding efforts to ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities and controls. Identify and manage asset reliability risks that could adversely affect plant or business operations. This broad primary role includes loss elimination, risk management and life cycle asset management. 

Works with Production to perform analyses of assets including:

  • Asset utilization 
  • Equipment effectiveness 
  • Remaining useful life  

  • Assists in developing engineering solutions to repetitive failures and any other problems that affect manufacturing operations.
  • Apply Reliability related methods such as: statistical process control, reliability modeling and prediction, fault tree analysis, Six Sigma methodology, root-cause and root-cause failure analysis.
  • Works with manufacturing groups to perform analyses of assets including: asset utilization, overall equipment effectiveness, remaining useful life, and other parameters that define operating condition, reliability, and costs.

  • Participates in the final check-out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will assure adherence to functional specifications.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an asset maintenance plan that includes: Value-added preventive maintenance tasks and effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
  • Provides input to a risk management plan that will anticipate reliability related and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operations.
  • Review lean and CI initiatives, processes, and procedures and recommend changes to ensure alignment with company goals      

 

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 5+ year’s recent aircraft manufacturing environment experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years (in addition to above) maintenance and reliability, production management, engineering or operations experience.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and the tools associated with failure detection as well as the software associated with them.
  • Well versed in ISO/AS9100 Quality requirements.
  • Good blueprint reading and manufacturing/inspection related math skills.
  • Strong understanding of the concepts and capabilities that pertain to Aerospace manufacturing including the idea of “right sized” equipment and moonshine cell operations.
  • Knowledge of ERP configuration, manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point); Knowledge in Microsoft Project is helpful, but not required.
