Site Reliability Engineer for True Dev Ops role (Bridge Gap Between Python Dev and IT)

This dynamic company is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer to literally bridge the gap between it’s 4 Python Developers (whom you’ll be leading) and its IT roles. This development center is located in Carlsbad, California.

Current and future projects revolve around building and applying artificial intelligence searches toward mobile marketing strategy. Understanding search language in order to deliver the best search engine for select markets is what this company is all about. This will give you the opportunity to address and resolve problems normally encountered only by search engine giants like Google and Bing.

In this role, you would be leading initiatives focused on systems infrastructure, deployment infrastructure, configuration management, capability planning, datacenter expansion, failover and DR, big data management and streaming data pipelines. All of these are in a high data volume environment, so if playing with a lot of data is your thing, you should definitely apply.

Required Skills

At least 3 years of systems administration experience
Solid understanding of both Linux and Windows Systems
Python scripting or software development experience
Puppet, Chef or Ansible configuration management (SCCM or SCOM also acceptable)
Automated testing (frameworks, best practices, mock libraries, etc.).
Capability planning experience
Pluses: Cassandra, MongoDB or other NoSQL, Hadoop and/or other data tools
