Job Description

Workday’s Big Data Services team supports an ever growing environment and services, in there 5 global data centers. The team is composed of highly skilled Big Data Engineers and SRE from Pleasanton, CA to Dublin, Ireland. SRE’s mission is to focus 100% on Production Operations of the Big Data platform by helping our clients/services to deliver new products and maintain operational excellence.

Specifically, You Will

  • Join an outstanding, fast-moving Big Data Platform & SRE team responsible for architecting and supporting Big Data Services.
  • Create solutions/automation to improve availability, scalability, and reliability aspects of Workday’s Big Data Platform in production
  • Become an expert in administering Big Data technologies.
  • Partner with teams to evaluate and build services around our Big Data offerings.

You Should Have

  • A BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with distributed big data processing systems like Hadoop, NoSQL or Spark.
  • 3-5 years minimum experience with systems or software engineering in distributed systems.
  • Fluency in Python, Perl, Ruby and other languages.
  • Familiarity with configuration management (Chef/Puppet), monitoring and automation frameworks
