Become a leader of a dynamic and growing team that is vital to Comcast within the Xfinity Home Security, Home Automation, and IOT division. We’re looking for a driven, forward-thinking individual to be the Director of Site Reliability and Operations, working with and supporting the activities of the Site Reliability Engineers, system administrators, and test engineers for Comcast’s Xfinity Home Security Product and infrastructure. This role would be responsible for support of production systems across multiple data centers, using a variety of technologies, including containers, cloud delivery, and CI/CD.
Develop and implement deployment strategies and work with software engineering managers to ensure all software releases meet project deployment specifications and requirements. Create and deploy monitoring and alerting tools to increase reliability and drive down outages. Provide leadership and direction for teams in multiple functional areas and geographic locations.
Responsibilities: - Creates and drives strategies in alignment with the Company’s overall deployment and infrastructure vision and business goals.
Works with project personnel to define standards and frameworks with regards to architecture, deployment, and monitoring of applications for multiple platforms.
Leads the Site Reliability Engineering team in the development of new infrastructure across multiple data centers and cloud systems, as well as leads the continued support for existing infrastructure.
Continuously researches new techniques with respect to deployment technology and best practices. Works with the Engineering team to implement new techniques that benefit the goals of the organization.
Oversees implementation initiatives, software updates, and the roll-out of new software releases, managing timelines and priorities of deployments.
Works with Supervisors and Managers to ensure all deliverables adhere to deadlines, specifications, and budgets. Develops and implements performance metrics. Reviews and reports on project progress to leadership team.
Prepares and manages budget(s) and financial targets.
Requirements: - Experience leading multiple operations and / or system administration teams
- Ability to mobilize teams to solve business challenges
- Persistent drive towards completion of tasks and initiatives
- Technical aptitude to understand interactive development initiatives
- Liaison with internal Comcast teams from other divisions
- Manage process improvement efforts
Incident management leadership (example: web site outages etc )
- In depth knowledge of process improvement methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Ability to handle on-call duty as needed
- Strong sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team environment, helpful can-do attitude
