We’re looking for a Datacenter Technician to join our team. This role will be responsible for maintaining and building the Sauce Labs data center infrastructure at our various Data Center Locations.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Hands on with infrastructure provisioning and server/network equipment deployments
- Work alongside a group of data center engineers/technicians in accomplishing the various day-to-day datacenter related tasks and facilitating new build-outs
- Troubleshoot and remedy hardware issues
- X86 Server
- Mobile Devies (Android and iOS)
- IOT Hardware
- Interacting with/updating internal ticketing and asset tracking systems
- Manage RMAs with various vendors
- Order needed supplies and hardware such as PDUs, cables, optics, storage drives, etc. and maintain a sufficient quantity of spares.
- Provide mentoring support to junior team members
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix based systems
- Familiarity with networking concepts and network operating systems such as Cisco IOS
- Document and maintain device and network connections.
- Running fiber and copper cables
- Periodic unboxing and racking of equipment
- 2-5 years plus experience working in a data center environment or equivalent technology background
- 2-5 years plus experience or ability to show familiarity with building, repairing and upgrading hardware components
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Linux and/or network administration
- Experience with power and circuits
- Ability to work independently and as part of an International distributed team
