Desired Skills and Experience

  • Prior experience as a MariaDB/MySQL DBA or consultant is required.
  • Expert knowledge of MariaDB and MySQL, preferably with certifications. 
  • Experience with database design, management and architecture.
  • Experience with programming languages and scripting languages
  • Sysadmin experience
  • Query tuning
  • Experience with DB installation and setup
  • Experience with multisource DB environments
  • Experience with MySQL proxies such as ProxySQL or MaxScale
  • Experience with multimaster environments such as Galera
  • Experience with MariaDB MHA
  • Experience with cloud software: AWS
  • Web application environment experience recommended
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
