The Motus Technology team is looking for an experienced, creative Director of Infrastructure to manage our application systems and tools. In this role, you will report directly to our VP of Technology, manage our DevOps engineers, and work closely with the Development and QA teams. You will be responsible for continuing to improve the reliability, security, and productivity of our production and staging, and development systems.

We run our systems on a cutting edge platform using AWS, Apache Mesos, Mesosphere Marathon and Chronos, and Docker.  We use Puppet, Terraform, and Ansible to manage our platform.  Experience with some or all of these technologies is extremely valuable in this position.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build, develop, and manage a high-performing infrastructure and DevOps team to meet the needs of a rapidly growing and changing business in an even more rapidly changing technology landscape.
  • Architect and implement a security environment to manage sensitive information across the organization.
  • Enhance automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure and scale their applications internally and at AWS, including SLA’s, 24x7 monitoring, alerting and incident response.
  • Continuously improve our visibility into our systems and applications with advanced monitoring, metrics and log analytics.
  • Actively participate in high-level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations.
  • Design, implement, and facilitate an annual infrastructure plan.
  • Manage infrastructure projects on and to budget.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years managing systems in a cloud-native environment (AWS, GCE, Azure).
  • 2+ years of team lead or management experience.
  • Strong experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Puppet or Chef.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux system administration, preferably CentOS or RHEL.
  • A detailed understanding of core network protocols and services (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST/SOAP, FTPS/SFTP, DNS, SSL, firewalls, load balancers).
  • Good scripting ability in bash or Groovy.
  • Experience with application monitoring and system monitoring (DataDog, Nagios, New Relic, etc.).
  • Superior written and oral communication skills with ability to consult and collaborate.
  • Self-direction and an ability to manage multiple projects on-time, on-budget, with a high degree of quality.
  • Proven ability to be innovative, forward thinking and drive results.
