We are seeking a junior Systems Administrator to join the Systems Infrastructure Team at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) located at the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus near Cambridge in the UK. You will be working in a team taking care of EBI’s central computing services including HPC clusters, job scheduling and high performance storage. The responsibilities include user support, troubleshooting and software installation, configuration and maintenance. The EBI maintains clusters totalling 1,500 nodes which are used for production services and by several hundred developers and researchers. Additionally, EBI manages more than 100 PB of scientific data, which are mounted from different storage systems using multiple technologies such as NFS, GPFS and Lustre.There will also be the opportunity to get involved in projects that offer opportunities to learn new skills.
