REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
8570 IAT Level 2 certification, e.g. Security+
The Junior Developer shall demonstrate six (6) months of specialized experience in web development and six (6) months of general IT experience.
The Mid-level Developer shall demonstrate three (3) years of specialized experience in web development and five (5) years of general IT experience.
The Senior-level Developer shall demonstrate seven (7) years of specialized experience in web development and ten (10) years of general IT experience.
Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Security+ certification or the ability to earn it within 90 days of hire
Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience in PHP and/or Java
The ability to learn new things quickly
Comfortable working independently and in a team environment
Differentiating Skills
Experience with web frameworks like jQuery, Bootstrap, Knockout, SASS, etc.
Experience with distributed source control systems (preferably Git)
Ansible
Basic systems administration skills for Windows and Linux to include: Remote Desktop, SSH, SFTP, restarting services
UI/UX design, wireframes, information architecture
CMS development/administration experience
Graphics design skills, Photoshop expertise
Experience designing/developing Section 508 compliant websites
Aptitude for requirements gathering. Able to communicate complex technical concepts to company stakeholders in an easy-to-understand manner
Experience with Agile development processes, methodologies, and tools
Understanding of Test Driven Development Aptitude
Desired Skills and Experience
- Work with Government and Department of Defense clients to create sites based on their vision, needs, and content.
- Assist with requirements gathering, information architecture, and UI/UX.
- Migrate clients off of legacy static sites and into new CMS sites.
- Assist legacy clients in maintaining their current static sites.
- Support website deployment efforts.
- Must possess a great work ethic and be able to work directly with end-users, key stakeholders and sponsors in a collaborative environment.
- Must be able to develop custom code in addition to knowing HTML, CSS, Javascript, basic tenets of web design, and the latest methods of responsiveness and graceful degradation.
- Experience with git, Jenkins, the linux command line, and MVC architecture are pluses.
- Experience with Drupal, WordPress, and/or Joomla is a nice-to-have.
- Must be able to obtain a security clearance and Security+ certification.
