As our AWS/DevOps engineer you will already have a great grounding in AWS and be experienced with EC2, S3, RDS, VPC & Security, ideally having experience in ECS/Docker.

We are also starting to use serverless technologies such as API Gateway and Lambda so experience and an interest in these areas would help you stand out.

We script everything, so experience in working within a ‘Infrastructure as code’ environment is essential. We use Ansible, Jenkins, Nexus & BitBucket in our DevOps stack.

We use an agile methodology with daily scrums & use the Atlassian suite of Jira/Confluence/HipChat to help us deliver an efficient SDLC with multiple projects running concurrently over the next year.  As a DevOps team we integrate with our Developers, Testers & IT Ops to provide as seamless process as possible.

Besides AWS, we are using Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL (on RDS), Informatica PowerCenter, Birst, MS SQL server and significant Java/Docker.

From a background perspective, either a solid SysAdmin background in Linux (with some Windows would also be great) and a few years in AWS would be ideal.  A Developer background can also work as long as you still have an excellent grounding in Linux with enough Infrastructure and Network/Security knowledge.

Good communication skills, self-starter, an interest in coming up with new ways to solve challenges & a desire to keep on learning new skills.
