The Co-op is changing, fast. We’re transforming our IT infrastructure to make it fit for the future, and over the coming years we’ll be decommissioning our data centres and building services in the cloud. We’re creating a new team of experts, and we want to make sure it reflects the rich diversity of the communities we serve. Now we need to recruit two talented cloud platform specialists to get our future hosting programme underway. If you can bring us the cloud infrastructure expertise we need, we can offer you the chance to build a career and help shape the technological landscape of our unique organisation. 

As a cloud platform specialist you’ll lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure and service delivery across the Co-op. You’ll work with senior partners from all of our businesses to provide advice, guidance and support. And you’ll have a crucial role to play in ensuring we evolve the programme in line with market developments to get maximum benefit from our significant commitment to hosting in the cloud.

What you’ll do:

To be successful as a cloud platform specialist, you’ll need a strong track record of delivering and managing cloud infrastructure. In addition to great technical skills, we’ll also need you to bring real commercial awareness. And if you can build great relationships and communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced team that’s set to completely transform our IT infrastructure.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • drive the future hosting programme from a technical perspective 
  • keep up to date with cloud market developments and use this insight to impact the programme
  • lead and coordinate project teams to deliver cloud based services 
  • build and maintain strong relationships with cloud vendors 
  • manage relationships with colleagues across all Co-op businesses 
  • act as a tech anchor point for business IT project delivery teams
  • you have significant experience of cloud infrastructure management and delivery
  • you’ve got experience using cloud automation tools
  • you have experience of delivery or migration in to the cloud
  • you can communicate effectively and manage relationships with non-tech colleagues
  • you’ve got real commercial acumen, and a finger on the pulse of the cloud technology market
