Desired Skills and Experience

  • Develop solutions to deliver applications across multiple cloud providers, cloud tools, and client’s existing infrastructure
  • Migrate existing workloads and applications to cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS providers
  • Build and automate the provisioning of infrastructure resources to support custom stacks, primarily leveraging automation tools and custom scripting for deployment automation
  • Analyze customer workloads and application inventories to determine appropriate cloud migration strategy
  • Translate customer’s technical and business requirements into clearly defined engineering tasks that can be executed by resources across multiple disciplines.
  • Evaluate new platforms, tools, and methodologies - then put them into reality
  • Travel to conferences, meet-ups and talks to learn and apply the newest technologies
  • BS or MS in Computer Science preferred, equivalent experience considered
  • 5+ years as a an Engineer with depth on the application and software side of the stack
  • Expert level in at least one compiled language (Java, C# or C++)
  • Proficiency with scripting languages (Python, Ruby, or Go)
  • Solid foundation of object-oriented languages, data structures, and efficiency of code
  • 2+ years of applied automation, configuration management tools, etc. Ideally with Puppet, Chef, CFEngine, or equivalent. Expertise building/automating the provisioning of infrastructure resources to support custom stacks a huge plus.
  • Able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the high scale cloud architecture, cloud computing market, enterprise and open source technologies. 
  • Passion for both public and private cloud architecture. Experience with infrastructure/cloud migrations, infrastructure disaster recovery planning & implementation ideal.
