We are seeking Operational Development Support Engineers for a role under the Software Engineering Operations group tasked with maintaining a keen understanding of the majority of production services in order to support last tier operational teams during production issues/outages and bridge with DevOps and Dev teams as needed. Candidates in this role should have a development background, a wide interest in implementation technologies, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, an openness to develop strong knowledge of the interdependencies of deployed services and the larger architecture, and be capable of clear and concise communication.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Development experience in languages such as PHP, Java, Bash/Shell, etc
  • Hands on experience working with data formats such as JSON and XML
  • Experience working with databases such as Oracle, MySQL, Cassandra, and Mongo
  • Understanding of core networking concepts
  • Familiarity with Docsis 3.1
  • Familiarity with the ELK stack, Splunk, AWS
  • Experience with application performance at scale
  • Experience working with a major cable, tv, and phone services provider
