The Senior Database Engineer will be working with our client’s Unified Platform Team, building services, automation, and a parity of services for enterprise-wide development team “Cloud-first” adoption.  

The core work in this role will be serving as an engineer building functionality and automation into the  Cassandra database infrastructure using Ansible and Terraform.

This is a multi-year consulting opportunity, with the initial engagement scoped at 12-18 months.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Work daily desiging scalable database solutions for our commerce platform, demonstrating high comfort with Cassandra.
  • Strong knowledge in building solutions with Ansible needed, Terraform preferred.
  • Knowledge and work with basic AWS services including EC2 and VPN.
  • Cursory knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, especially PCI (if you’ve been through a PCI audit this would be very helpful.)
  • Established experience implementing and managing high capacity, redundant, and mission critical environments.
  • Practical understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, VLAN, IP sub netting, proxies and firewalls.
  • Proven ability to automate repetitive tasks using a common scripting or programming language.
