As part of Custom Solutions within the Research Product group, our infrastructure and content operations team takes responsibility for timely delivery of a growing number of datasets into research applications such as SciVal, Pure and various Custom Solutions data science products.
Your responsibilities
As a DevOps Engineer, you’ll be designing, building and monitoring our production environments across AWS infrastructures and work closely with our product-development and big-data teams. You will ensure the continuous improvement of existing products and data-processes and build infrastructure for new product and big data processes. Automate everything; including provisioning, monitoring, data processes, and continuous delivery elements. With your contribution, platforms are scalable and autonomous, releases go live without any downtime, and platforms are secure.

Desired Skills and Experience
- 3+ years of DevOps or System Engineer experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an equivalent field
- Good Knowledge of shell scripting and/or dynamic languages (Bash, Python)
- Automation & orchestration expertise with Ansible, Puppet is a plus
- Automated build and deployments with Git/Jenkins/etc.
- Good knowledge of modern application servers such as Nginx, Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere
- Good knowledge of enterprise level networking (TCP/IP, VPNs, SFTP, Proxy, Firewalls) is plus
- Hands on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience or interest working with big data frameworks like Spark is plus
- Familiarity with setting up and maintaining LDAP
- Experience and willing to work with Microsoft stack is plus (Windows, SQL server, SSIS, CMD)
- Good knowledge of relational databases including its performance tuning, backup/restore scripts and processes
- Strong communication skills and fluency in English
