As a DevOps Engineer in NEO you are responsible for managing and setting up the infrastructure for our Business Application back ends and frontends in the area of StarTrack Reporting and Business Intelligence. You are contributing to our powerful home-grown Analytics and Reporting Platform for Point Of Sales Market Research. You are collaborating with our teams in Germany and other countries to develop all related backend and frontend applications.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • enjoy setting up infrastructures by coding them
  • are interested in using the latest technologies (Kubernetes, Docker) for automating our infrastructure
  • drive continuous integration in close cooperation with our developers
  • enjoy designing a fully automated infrastructure setup in several independent environments
  • automate software installation and distribution
  • develop and extend our existing artifact repository
  • develop concepts for bringing our applications into the cloud
  • diploma in computer science or comparable working experience
  • 5+ years relevant job experience in software development
  • excellent command of version control systems (GIT, TFS VC)
  • experience in at least one object orient programming language (preferred: Java, C#)
  • working knowledge of software for continuous integration (e.g. Jenkins, TFS)
  • experience in setting up containers with Docker
  • very good knowledge of networking with Linux and Windows
  • automated configuration of computer environments with Puppet/Chef
  • good knowledge of virtualization techniques (VMWare) and cloud infrastructures (AWS)
  • working knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Python, bash, Ruby)
  • experience in developing unit tests (experience in the field of TDD / BDD is a competitive advantage)
  • excellent English skills both verbally and written
  • experience in working in an agile set-up (e.g. Scrum) is an advantage
