Portland State University (PSU) seeks to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic qualities of urban life by providing access to a quality liberal arts education for undergraduates and an appropriate array of professional and graduate programs especially relevant to the Portland metropolitan area. PSU is located in beautiful, vibrant downtown Portland. Easily accessible by bike and public transit, PSU is surrounded by many restaurants, food carts, parks, and local businesses. We hope you will consider joining us and experience our motto in action: Let Knowledge Serve the City.

In the PSU Office of Information Technology (OIT), we empower students, faculty, and staff through technology. Our number one value is our employees: we actively encourage a healthy work-life balance and strive to support our employees professionally and personally. This is fostered through many avenues. We strongly support professional development, and there are many opportunities on campus and in the local Portland area. PSU offers a sizable tuition discount and we encourage our staff to take advantage of this, be it for pursuing a degree or personal interest. In OIT, we believe that this type of support creates a positive environment for our employees both at work and in their personal lives. We are a department of dynamic, engaged, collaborative, and communicative people, and seek to attract more of the same.

This position exists within the Computing Infrastructure Services (CIS) department of OIT. CIS is responsible for the network and computing infrastructure used by faculty, staff, and students campus-wide. This includes PSU’s cloud infrastructure, enterprise data center, storage, networks, server/client operating systems, databases, middleware and infrastructure applications.

As the Cloud Infrastructure & Application Engineer you will evaluate, implement, and configure PSU’s externally hosted PaaS and SaaS solutions. You will also migrate existing applications to IaaS cloud solutions where appropriate. Your initial focus will be to configure and integrate Google G Suite solutions, Atlassian products, and Drupal hosting platforms as well as migrate DR capabilities to AWS. You will be part of a DevOps team with a focus on continuous integration of Linux solutions both in the local data center and in the cloud. As you define new solutions, you will provide training to teams across the university.
