The College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University is seeking a Computer Systems Administrator (118413), specializing in Linux Server administration, to join our WSU Veterinary Information Systems team in Pullman, WA.

The qualified applicant will provide administration and support for production Linux servers, enterprise applications, and security management.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Support of college-wide Linux server operating systems and server services
  • Analyzing complex issues, conducting thorough and appropriate fact-finding inquiries, logical reasoning and articulate comprehensive
  • Physical eligibility and understanding of BSL-2 laboratory safety guidelines and work environment.
  • Advanced proficiency with Linux systems administration.
  • Proficiency with Windows Server administration.
  • Linux CentOS 6 and 7.
  • Apache web services.
  • Experience with KVM virtual environment 
  • PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Microsoft SQL. 
  • PowerShell, Perl, bash, puppet, LATEX, ruby, PHP, Python.
  • Active Directory, System Center, IIS, Hyper-V virtual environment.
  • Network and firewall configuration.
  • Medical systems such as: VetStar, VADDS, Merge PACS, Fuji Synapse, RIS, or others.
