Consolidated Trading is looking for a Microsoft SQL Server Developer/DBA to work in their Chicago office.   The successful candidate will be a highly knowledgeable and experienced SQL Developer and DBA, with solid communications skills and ability to multitask and prioritize.  Previous experience working for a trading firm would be extremely beneficial in this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop ETL processes for new data sources and build new SSRS reports for traders, compliance and accounting departments
  • Provide performance tuning, maintenance and optimization of existing stored procs, SSIS packages, and SSRS reports.
  • Perform ad hoc queries, analysis and reporting as required.
  • Monitor scheduled tasks in production environment to ensure successful completion.
  • Monitor database backup processes and periodically test disaster recovery plan.
  • Strong experience with Windows and MS SQL Server (2008 and higher) technologies (SSIS, SSRS)
  • Python experience would be a plus
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
  • Able to set up and perform upgrades of complex databases, including interfacing with source control and change control in order to generate creation, data comparison, upgrade, and maintenance scripts
  • Strong knowledge of backups, restores, recovery models, database shrink operations, and DBCC commands.
  • Familiarity with the operation of a trading firm would be a plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent experience
