DevOps / Systems Engineer at PPRO Group (München, Germany)
We‘re looking for talented System Engineers with programming experience and strong backgrounds in BSD Unix design philosophy to join our fast growing, global team. You will be responsible for helping to plan, develop, test and implement new and ongoing infrastructure projects. Additional daily tasks may include operating or deploying new software.
You will join a team of experienced professionals based in our Munich office and will report to the Head of Processing Infrastructure.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Performing software deployments using a variety of tools
- Provide support in monitoring, back-ups, reporting, problem identification and mitigation, and service improvements
- Collaborate with your team members to continually improve working processes and share knowledge
- Automation of infrastructure tasks is a primary focus of this role
- Bachelor’s degree in scientific, engineering or technical field or equivalent practical experience
- Familiarity with DevOps administrative tools (i.e., Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
- Experience with version tracking and continuous integration environments (i.e., git, buildbot, etc.)
- Expertise in administrating Unix/Linux/BSD environments
- Experience with SQL database administration (replication, basic queries, monitoring)
- Strong knowledge of shell scripting, or at least one other scripting language (i.e., Python or Perl)
- Good command of the English language
- Experience with FreeBSD and FreeBSD virtual environments (jails and other VM platforms like bhyve)
- Experience managing firewalls with PF, or any network administration
- Familiarity with cloud-based virtualization such as Azure or AWS
- Any experience in collaborative software development
